  • Minutes
    • Dan announced that the FDC readiness review that was held last week went very well.
    • David Lawrence went through his slides on the tracking performance of the CDC. The work appears to indicate that the three stereo superlayers would be better than three. It also appears to indicate that the close-pack structure that Beni proposed would have better efficience. This improved efficiency appears to be more closely related to additional layers, rather than improved pattern recognition. There is also some inherent single hit efficiency in a straw which is lower than in a conventional drift chamber (due to the shapes of the straws).
    • After Davids talk, Curtis asked what the large chi-square values that David showed really meant. In partciular, it appears that as the chisquare cut is raised, the different designs all converge to the same value. At this point, it is unclear where cut on chisquare should be placed.
    • Finally, there are comments on both the FDC and CDC reports. It was agreed that these would be exchanged via email (on the tracking list).
