Announcements
- Elke asked that everyone inform her of any FY08 purchases they are planning. We have no 6 GeV budget to draw on!
- A new Chinese group is joining Hall D. They likely will work on trigger simulation, trigger hardware, and maybe other topics. Resident at JLab will be a post-doc and a grad student. They will start in Feb (all going well with their visas, etc).
- The FCAL test may be at Triumf instead of JLab...the calorimetry group is working on this. In either case JLab will provide the DAQ system.

JLab DAQ group plans, progress and milestones - Graham Heyes
Details can be found in Graham's talk, see link above.
CD-3 plans - All
- Most of the discussion on this topic took place during Graham's talk.
- Elliott noted that we need to choose a controls framework well before the CD-3 review.
- Elke noted that CD-3 officially requires 100% design, but in the case of electronics 80% is adequate, as one cannot
choose chips and components so early. This can be satisfied by requirements documents and schematic layouts that do not list part numbers for all components.
- Elke asked if there is enough staff to do everything needed for CD-3. Does the JLab Electronics and DAQ groups need more help?
- Fernando and Chris noted that detector groups need to make decisions soon on number of FADC bits needed, etc, and that full electronics specifications/requirements are needed.
