New Action Items from this Meeting

Minutes

Present: Elliott W, Beni Z, Simon T, David L, Alex S, Yi Q, Bryan M, James Codega, Dave H, Mark I, Elton S.

Event Display

Dave Heddle reported on excellent progress on DED the Hall D event display that uses the bCNU framework (originally written for CLAS12). See his slides for many details.

  • bCNU will be stored in the 12GeV repository.
  • Jevio is in the DAQ repository.
  • DED will be stored in the Hall D repository.
  • Working on 3-D, but will be architecture dependent due to underlying rendering packages.
  • Geom currently hard-coded into DED, eventually can get from another source.
  • Eventually will display in a web browser.
  • Currently displays hits, tracks, magnetic field.

RootSpy

James C reported on recent progress, see his slides for details.

  • Major rewrite of original RootSpy to accomodate multi-node input, hist summing, etc.
  • Many enhancements still coming.
  • Will perform multi-node test using DAQ farm.

Trigger Test Stand

Alex reported that Hai is almost done with the system to allow download of fake digitization data into the FADC250 to allow for "playback" mode.

cMsg and SSH Tunnels

Elliott reported that Carl T is working on fixes to cMsg to allow clients to connect to servers via an SSH tunnel. Dave L, Elliott and Patrick W figured out what was going on and Carl is fixing it.

DANAEVIO

Elliott is enhancing the DANAEVIO plugin to include more objects in the EVIO file. These will be used by the Hall D event display. In particular, addition of "associated objects" requires switch from EventProcessor to Factory style implementation. Many new problems appear when associated objects are included, especially when "tagged factories" are included. Also, arrays of strings will need to be added to cMsg (also needed by CLAS12).

Coil Test

Elliott reported steady progress on hardware, software and on the safety review.

DAQ

Bryan reported he and Dave A are looking at Linux single board computers using Intel I7 processors.
