Agenda
- Preparation of parts for ECAL modules -- Sasha
- Module fabrication -- Sasha
- All modules have been fabricated, checked, and inventorized (about 1610 modules in total)
- Ongoing projects -- Sasha, all
- Visual inspections of fabricated modules [3] - done
- All crystals moved to Hall D[4] [5][6] - done
- Tested, labeled, and bundled all 100 (+ 2 spares) [7] signal cables connected from the flash ADC to the patch panel [8] - done
- Test and label 1100 short signal cables - ongoing
- Tested fabricated modules using LMS [9] - done (need to update the wiki page)
- Cutting optical fibers and gluing plastic caps [10], waiting for 7600 ft of optical fibers
- Report from students
- Refurbished (remove soldering bumps and rewrap) 42 modules. One more layer of the detector will be installed today.
- Need to wrap and fabricate about 30 modules using newly received crystals (will replace some already existing modules with low-quality crystals). Plan to finish with this during next week [11].
- Tested and labeled 120 HV cables
- Preparing optical fibers for the LMS
- Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad
- -Tested 6 dividers from the first batch. Asked to produce all remaining dividers. Expect to receive some of them in a couple of weeks
- Proceedures
- Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Arshak / Vlad / Hakob
- Detector installation [14][15][16]
- Detector installation page
- Updates from the meetings with Tim's group [17]
- Discussion of the FCAL2 installation procedures [18]
- Final mapping of low-voltage cables
- Mindy continues with wrapping crystals and soldering wires to sockets.
- Projects for summer students
- Summer Students (2023)
- Light monitoring system -- Arshak
- Analysis/Simulation
Minutes
Attendees: Arshak, Igal, Olga, Zisis, Sasha, Vlad B., Liping, Jane, S.T.
- Milestone: all 1596 insert crystals have been installed!
- Visually inspect 70 SICCAS crystals from final batch
- May send 11 back
- Several others "suspicious" (have chips, etc.) but may be still usable as spares
- Make prototype to put in PS setup, upgrade TAC to 5x5 ?
- Received batch of HV cables, have been tested and labeled
- Have some PMT spares, probably want more
- Work continues on optical fibers (gluing caps, polishing,...)
- PMT dividers have been ordered
- Performed visual inspection of lead glass in hall
- Found one with chip on PMT side (try to set these aside before installation)
- Found one with broken vacuum (no cathode color seen)
- LG assemblies with bent dividers being fixed
- Arshak gave report on status of light monitoring system
- Fiber bundles separate into groups of 20 fibers for left-right routing and 40 fibers going down
- 3D printed fiber connector adapter for integrating sphere
- Chris S. working on LEDs (green, blue, purple)
- Sasha suggested ordering plate with many holes (for polishing fibers?) instead of 3D printing
- Integrating sphere: 2 ports available for LEDs
- Sasha working on keeping detector support group involved with the project
- Liping/Sasha working on mini-symposium proposal for April APS meeting
