Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - signal cables and 2 patch panels [1] - done
    • - HV short cables: done
    • - HV long cable, 18 ready (out of 36)
    • - HV distribution boards: not designed
    • - LV cables: missing about 20 cables, waiting for the last delivery batch.
    • - LV distribution boards [2]. One board out of 4 is ready
    • - LED: the prototype of the LED board has been received. Chris will populate it with components
  • Ongoing projects
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / George / Mindy
    • - Testing procedure [3]
    • - All dividers have been fabricated and tested by George [4]
      • Continue removing regulators from the PCB (about 70 regulators have been removed, require re-testing dividers)
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob / Laveen
  • Summer students -- Sasha
    • - 2 students from UNCW (May 15), 1 student from GWU (May 19) All paper work has been completed, they are ready to come.
    • - Projects: document all test results, assist with the cable/divider installation, install signal cables on patch panel, work on the ECAL monitoring plots
  • Beam tests with the PS
      • measure shower beam profile and reconstruction in the crystal/LG transition region
      • (install prototype with 5x5 PbWO4 modules + ? LG)
  • Other hardware projects
    • prototype of the ECAL veto counter (?)
  • FCAL2 poster for open house?
    • JEF/ECAL/FCAL poster (Laveen + students + feedback from all of us)
  • Analysis/Simulation

Minutes

Attendees: Bill, Sasha, Laveen, Jane, Zisis, Liping, Vlad, Stjepan, Jon, Olga, S.T.

  • Almost all short LV cables in house (missing about 20)
  • Progress in construction of LV patch panels
  • HV distribution boards not ready yet
  • Prototype for LED driver PCB in house, to be glued to integrating sphere
  • PMT dividers: all testing completed, except newer ones with regulator removed (need to be retested)
  • Laveen tested and labeled 100 LV cables + installed/tested dividers for 1 layer in insert
    • Now have layers -21 to -10 installed
    • Next set of rows will have amplifier
  • HV cables to be connected to patch panel outside dark box
  • Found one bad HV cable, tripping to ground, removed and replaced
  • Also found some broken connectors and jumpers not set correctly
  • Dark room will be opened on Tuesday to check chiller
  • Three students arriving soon
  • Plan to keep one arm in PS setup for our own studies during beam
    • Measure shower profile in lead tungstate and lead glass (5x5 each?)
  • Plan to have posters for open house
  • Discussed possible veto counter near beam line
    • Make prototype with scintillating tiles + wavelength shifting fibers?
    • Veto for Compton events?
