Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL modules -- Sasha
    • Crystals:
      - Received all crystals from CRYTUR [1].
      - Available for wrapping: 15 CRYTUR
      - Expect to receive the last batch of crystals from SICCAS, plan to inspect in the middle of July (Jane)
    • Received 1100 long signal cables
    • Procurement parts for the LMS:
      - 16,400 ft of optical fibers delivered to the lab. 7,600 will be delivered in September.
      - Received all plastic caps
      - Cutting Tedlar foils, preparing silicon cookies [2], etc.
  • Module fabrication -- Sasha
    • Fabricated modules: Total 1586 (need to fabricate 10 remaining spares)
  • Ongoing projects -- Sasha, all
    • Visual inspections of fabricated modules [3]
      -1586 modules have been checked [4]
    • Testing and labeling signal cables (connect flash ADC with the detector distribution panel) [5]
      - 725 long signal cables have been tested [6]
      - Cable tester and label maker
      - 12 bundles of signal cables are ready (out of 100)
    • Removing signal cables from the FCAL and rearranging signal cables in the hall [7] [8]
      - 400 signal cables removed, need to re-label and bundle
      - all cables have been re-arranged, two VXS crates can be removed (will be used by the ECAL)
    • Cutting optical fibers (800 fibers have been cut), gluing plastic caps (380 recently glued)[9]
    • Report from students
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad
    • All dividers have been ordered; will send all electronics components to the company to fabricate dividers on Monday next week (Chris)
    • Preparing setups for testing modules and dividers

  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Arshak / Vlad / Hakob

  • Phil brought up Conference Experience for Undergraduates for the upcoming DNP meeting in Hawaii
    • Sasha will submit an abstract on behalf of all of the students working on the project this summer
    • The restriction of one speaker per poster at DNP --> several poster submissions?
  • All Crytur crystals have been received, expect some spares from SICCAS (Jane to visit Shanghai in the middle of July)
  • Grand total fabricated modules = 1586
    • All inspected, some early modules need to be rewrapped
  • Received all long cables, labeling and testing underway
    • Recovered 400 cables from FCAL to be used for ECAL
  • LMS: expect 7k feet of fibers in September
  • Op-amps for PMT dividers arrived, will send all divider components to outside company to fabricate: expect 3-4 week delivery time
  • Need to test modules using dark box and LED
  • Survey group has started work in the hall
  • Stacking to start July 10
  • Mark D. requested to swap bases between FCAL modules
