Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - signal cables - done
    • - signal patch panel [1] - done
    • - HV cables: received 165 short cables during this week (1280 in total)
    • - HV distribution boards: in preparation
    • - LV cables: received first article of short cables, production started on Dec. 7, have not received yet.
    • - LV distribution boards. Received 4 boards, performed initial cehck, need to solder connectors
    • - Optical fibers and parts for the trigger/DAQ have been ordered
  • Ongoing projects -- Sasha, all
    • - Testing and labeling cables [2], 120 short HV cables testes and labeled during this week.
    • - Prepare modules for the TAC and prototypes (using crystals with some imperfections)
      • 26 modules for TAC [3] and 35 modules [4] for the beam tests are ready
    • - Preparation of the LMS
      • - Need to glue Al flange to the optical fiber
      • - Ready for installation [5]
    • - Radiation tests of the PMT active base [6]
      • Finished tests, working on the tech note
    • - Inventory database and GUI for installed electronics
    • - Summer Students (2023)
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / Aoran
    • - Testing procedure [7]
    • - Tested 637 divider (all fabricated dividers) [8]
    • - Spare PMTs, have about 20, likely need more for the future (order 30 more )?
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob
    • Detector installation [9][10][11]
    • Installation of the LMS
      • Started yesterday (after long delay)[12] [13]
      • Had to obtain trainings for operating scissor lift (operation without training violates safety rules) (revealed some issues with the lift when inspected by Joe Thomas)
    • Cable and divider installation
      • Started yesterday, making a decision how to stretch them [14]
    • Still no power on the ECAL platform (expect delay with the development of the trigger/DAQ)
    • Detector installation page

Minutes

Attendees: Bill, Sasha, Arshak, Liping, Jane, Phil, Vlad, Stjepan, Olga

  • Temporary safety documents in new ePas system in place so work on FCAL-2 installation could proceed
  • Received one more batch of short HV cables, expect 2 more batches
  • LV cables have not been delivered yet (although we received the first articles last year)
  • LV distribution boards arrived and checked
  • Plexiglas installation for lead glass finished last week, so installation of LMS for insert can start
    • Feed LMS bundles through hole, to interface with integrating sphere to be mounted on optical bench
  • 637 PMT dividers tested, waiting for the remaining to be fabricated
  • HV cables being routed through chains
  • Still no power on ECAL platform
  • Short on manpower: detector support group can help with divider testing
  • Igal continues to work with Daniel L. on machine learning algorithms to suppress background
