Agenda
- Preparation of parts for ECAL modules -- Sasha
- Crystals:
- Received 1100 short signal cables [3]
- Procurement parts for the LMS:
- - Waiting for 7,600 ft of optical fibers (August/September)
- Module fabrication -- Sasha
- All modules have been fabricated, checked, and inventorized (about 1610 modules in total)
- Ongoing projects -- Sasha, all
- Visual inspections of fabricated modules [4] - done
- All crystals moved to Hall D[5] [6][7].
- Tested, labeled, and bundled all 100 (+ 2 spares) [8] signal cables connected from the flash ADC to the patch panel [9] - done
- Test and label 1100 short signal cables - ongoing
- Tested fabricated modules using LMS [10] - done (need to update the wiki page)
- Cutting optical fibers and gluing plastic caps [11], waiting for 7600 ft of optical fibers
- Work on refurbishing LG modules. About 80 modules have small imperfections and have to be fixed (rejected during installation)
- - Mindy is re-wrapping crystals (12 during last week). She also continues soldering wires to the PMT connectors
- Report from students
- Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad
- Received 10 dividers (first article) ! , going to test them during this week (Chris)
- Proceedures
- Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Arshak / Vlad / Hakob
- Detector installation [12][13][14]
- Detector installation page
- Updates from the meetings with Tim's group [15]
- Discussion of the FCAL2 installation procedures [16]
- Final mapping of low-voltage cables
- Mindy continues with wrapping crystals and soldering wires to sockets.
- Projects for summer students
- Summer Students (2023)
- Light monitoring system -- Arshak

- Found 8 chipped + 4 low quality SICCAS crystals out of set of 70 of the final batch -- likely send them back
- Short signal cables continue to arrive, expect ~600 more
- All fabricated modules have been moved to the hall
- All inspected visually, tested with LMS in dark box
- Dimensions measured using calipers
- Sorting in preparation for installation
- Still expecting last batch of fibers for LMS
- Minding from detector support group continues to re-wrap modules that have issues
- Installation of modules in FCAL continues -- now 1196 ECAL+1400 LG
- Need to be careful -- crystals are very brittle, found 3 cracked lead tungstate crystals + 1 cracked LG block; required partial unstacking and restacking
- Discussed fiber veto for region near beam line not covered by TOF scintillators
- Tungsten absorber with holes for optical fibers on the way
