Meeting time and location:

  • 9:30 am EST (JLab time) remote only
  • Connection information
  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - signal cables - done
    • - signal patch panel [1] - done
    • - HV short cables: received, checked, labeled (last week)
    • - HV long cable, 18 ready (out of 36)
    • - HV distribution boards: in preparation
    • - LV cables: waiting for about 160 cables (will need to test, label, and bundle)
    • - LV distribution boards [2]. Have to populate with connectors, and design a box around the PCB
    • - Chris S. is working on the prototype of the LED board. Currently 5 blue LEDs, consider to add red LEDs as well
  • Ongoing projects
    • - Bundling short cables (groups of 7, 7, and 6 cables): signal (done), HV (done), LV (36 layers done, waiting for cables) [3]
    • - [[] Update from Laveen]
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / George / Mindy
    • - Testing procedure [4]
    • - Mindy has finished with preparing all sockets (~1650) !
    • - All dividers have been fabricated and tested by George [5]
      • decided to remove regulators on about 40 dividers
    • - Adding ECAL and updating FCAL translation table in the TT.DB (have to finish during this week)
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob / Laveen
    • Installation of the LMS has been completed [6]
    • Installation and testing cables and dividers [7][8]
    • All crates are connected to the network switch Ethernet switch [9]
    • Preparing for testing installed dividers
    • Detector installation page
    • Preparation for beam tests with the PS
      • measure shower beam profile
      • shower reconstruction between PbWO4 and LG
    • Other hardware projects
      • --prototype of the ECAL veto counter
      • --study shower profile using PS (also transition region between lead tungstate and LG modules (?) )
  • FCAL2 poster for open house?
    • JEF/ECAL/FCAL poster
  • Analysis/Simulation

Minutes

Attendees: Igal, Liping, Olga, Laveen, Bill, Sasha, Vlad, Stjepan, Zisis, Jane, Jon, S.T.

  • Laveen reported that 50 more LV cables have been labelled and tested, still need 110
    • 6 layers of PMT dividers have been installed and tested
      • Dark room made dark using tedlar and plates
      • Bypassed amplifier
      • Set 1kV HV (close to nominal voltage; expect ~920V when have amplifier installed)
        • Issue with CAEN HV interlock needs to be resolved
      • Use LMS with 7V on LEDs to provide light input, look at signals on oscilloscope
      • Found a few problems: swapped signal cables; one HV cable not able to hold HV, needed to be swapped out
    • Ethernet cables for 7 crates have been installed, connected all crates to switch
  • PMT dividers all fabricated and tested
    • Plan to increase number with regulator removed
    • Plan to install and test one layer of PMTs at a time; can do one layer every 1-2 days
    • Need HV control to be implemented in CSS
  • Chiller installation underway, need final plumbing, would like to be operational for full testing of insert (okay for now for short-duration testing)
  • Igal gave an update on η→π0γγ
    • Went over GAMS results
      • Highest measured BR for η→π0γγ
      • Saw η'→ωγ, ω→π+π-π0 but ω→π0γ not shown
      • Strict cuts to isolate signal
    • Went over A2 results
      • Background due to 2π0
      • Suppress η→3π0 background with shower effective radius cu
    • η' possible good reference channel
    • Discussed contributions to η→2γ peaking background (shower splitting + conversions (which we can suppress using TOF veto))
    • Introduce PINN (physics-informed neutal network)
    • Looked at spring 2017 data -- no obvious signal seen
