* The VME64 crate he cannot hold more than 2 JLab modules. The desire is to run with three: TI, discriminator and F1TDC. Any two of these is OK but with all three, the 12 V supply starts to sag. Solution was to put the discriminator in another VME crate along with the CAEN CFD. A second interface was found, a CAEN VME-USB bridge. Some of the driver software needed to be modified for this new arrangement.

Review of Minutes from Last Meeting

We looked over the minutes from last time.

The construction MOU between FSU and JLab and been signed by all parties at FSU and JLab now. Next step is the construction contract.

Prototype Status

Sasha O. reported:

  • The TDC noise issue has been solved. The CFD in the next slot was causing the noise. When moved to a different location in crate the noise abated.
  • The VME64 crate he cannot hold more than 2 JLab modules.
  • There was a problem gluing up the long TOF paddles. The original plan was to glue them in a vertical orientation so that gravity holds the joint while it cures, but the new lab space has insufficiently high ceilings.
    • Beni suggesting trying to use UV curing glue; it cures very quickly. The Detector Group at JLab has experience with this glue. Carl Zorn is a possible resource.

Next Meeting

This was the last meeting of 2010. The next meeting will be Friday, January 7.
