Collaboration Meeting Agenda
We all agreed on an agenda. (Later Hovanes' talk got merged into Elliott's talk, which went first).
Rebaseline
We briefly discussed the rebaseline effort. Hovanes, David and Elliott will meet to work this out. Hovanes is coordinating the effort.
Level 3
See Dave's slides for full details. This was sort of a practice talk for the collaboration meeting. Dave implemented a L1 filter on MC events, then tested various L3 strategies using about 15 event variables. Ones related to tracking take the most time by far to determine. Cutting on a simple maximum likelihood estimator he was able to get decent rejection with reasonable efficiency using acceptable amounts of cpu time. A more sophisticated multi-dimensional classification scheme might do significantly better. As a proof-of-principle his result shows we should have no problem implementing a L3 trigger system.
Counting House
Elliott gave a brief update on meetings, furniture choices, order status, installation strategy, etc.
HDCC
Elliott gave a brief update on the status of purchase/installation of computer equipment in the Rack room.
DAQ Testing
Elliott gave a brief update on Dave Abbott's plans to perform large-scale DAQ tests in the Rack room.
Controls Parameters
Beni raised questions concerning how we will store and retrieve controls parameters (e.g. hv and lv settings) from the archive system. We are hoping the Accelerator divisions MyA archive system will solve this problem.
Simulated Raw Data
David reported no change here, this is on the back burner due to the collaboration meeting, budgeting and other efforts.
Solenoid Test
Elliott reported we are still in a holding pattern waiting for the cryo plant to come back online.
Controls/EPICS
Elliott reported we are still in negotiation with the Accelerator div concerning how to implement MyA for Hall D, what hardware is needed, etc. There are alternate backup and restore systems from e.g. SNS we might use if MyA isn't good enough.
JInventory
Elliott reported we are almost ready to purchase the small barcode labels, and we should be able to print larger ones ourselves.
DAQ
Bryan reported on ongoing testing of hardware and software in the DAQ group, and that further testing requires the large scale system in the Rack room. CODA3 is ready for the latter, as are the COOL editor and other software. Vardan is working on an AFECS-based trigger configuration system and database with Alex and Dmitry. We are hoping to arrange for Vardan to work on the Farm Manager as well.
