Minutes
Attendees: Sasha, Igal, Arshak, Zisis, Olga, Liping, Jane, Jon, Susan, S.T.
- Jane's group went to Shanghai and inspected 88 SICCAS crystals
- Found many poor quality crystals (several discolored, several with chips beyond surface level/chamfers)
- Will reject 23-25
- Will use remaining as spares or for other projects (not enough to instrument any more columns in insert)
- Long cables are arriving: have 1200 + 400 from FCAL
- 53/100 bundles have been prepared
- Remaining fibers for LMS still not expected until August/September
- All modules needed for insert have been fabricated, being prepared to move to hall D
- Testing each one using dark box (looking at waveforms on oscilloscope)
- Expect first article PMT dividers from outside company soon
- Stacking of lead glass modules in new frame has started, as of meeting 340 in place
- Up to layer 10, insert starts after layer 19, maybe middle of week of 7/17/23?
- Survey&alignment to check levelness before we get too far
- Arshak polishing fibers
- Liping visited Modern Physics Institute in China
- They are working on new accelerator facility to come online in 2025
- They plan to work on η physics, similar to REDTOP
