Present: Elliott W, Beni Z, Simon T, Dave L, Alex S, Elton S, Yi Q, Bryan M, Hovanes E, Dave A.
Coil Test Update
- Currently hunting down some vacuum leaks.
- Otherwise everything about ready to go.
- Expect faster cooldown, shorter testing period than with the first coil.
Upcoming Tests
- UConn
- have what they need for microscope test, likely will run in the fall.
- may need to redesign preamp.
- Elliott will fine computer for active collimator test.
- High-speed multi-crate trigger/electronics test in Electronics lab
- have begun collecting test equipment for use this spring.
- Dave A will supply multi-core rack-mount computer, Elliott has monitor/keyboard/mouse.
- firmware still under development, hardware mostly ok.
- CODA3 eventually will be used, may use codaLite to get started.
- will use Bryan and Dave's readout libraries in either case.
- will use Linux rocs.
- FCAL test
- little known about purpose, timing, schedule, etc.
- FDC test
- Beni generated list of required hardware and timelines, test starts 6/2012 in EEL 126.
- will NOT have new F1TDC's available, so must use old F1's.
- Dave A located 23 old F1's in varying condition, Beni will select 8 good ones for use in the test.
- need to develop a lot of software by then.
- Elliott and Beni will generate note on requirements, timelines, milestones, etc.
- need prototype system by Jan 2012.
IRMIS
- Elliott is having MIS group install IRMIS on a development machine.
- Developer used Glassfish, MIS uses JBoss, some incompatibilities noted.
- Will evaluate using controls information from the solenoid coil test.
Raw Event Format
- Dave L consulted with Carl T and Dave A on the EB output format.
- Goal is to generate simulated evio output in online format by the summer.
- Much discussion of event blocking, entangled events, where to unblock and disentangle, etc.
Event Display
- Needed for FDC test, may use Java version.
- Elliott needs to talk with Andrew about this.
ROC Evaluation
- Readout libs work with all three boards tested.
- DAQ group leaning towards GE board since it is the cheapest.
- GE board also allows addition of 10 GBit Ethernet mezzanine card, probably needed for high luminosity running.
- Board cost currently $3400 in small quantities, within our budget.
- Likely to get discount for large purchase, but don't want to buy most of them until we're about to start running.
