Minutes
Attending: Albert, Alex, Beni, Mark, Rory, Simon, Elton
- Previous CPP meeting: Apr 21, 2021
- Announcements
- Action Items
- CPP and NPP Readiness Review
- Responses to the ERR. This link points to the draft response to the ERR.
- MWPCs (fabrication, testing) (Rory)
- MWPC document is close to complete
- Rory paned through the document. It is a nice summary of the MWPCs and will serve as a reference.
- There might be small updates needed, but the present draft is sufficient for the response to the ERR. Document will be uploaded to the portal as a reference in the ERR response.
- Trigger rates (beam test analysis, expectation with target pulled back) (Ilya)
- Hdgeant4 (initial setup and plan for running simulations) (Mark and Beni)
- Analysis (low level reconstruction, monitoring) (David to write paragraph)
- CDC Coverage of electronics by one crate (Beni)
- MWPC gas system
- Tracking / extrapolation to MWPCs (Simon)
- Simon has made some final pull request to git to extrapolation to MWPCs.
- He has also updated the geometry (in hdds) adding the Pb picture frame to the geometry
- Beni will merge the pull request and update ccdb with the updated geometry
- Higher level analysis (e.g. PID, efficiencies and reconstruction) (Rory)
- Rates in MWPCs (Ilya)
- Microscope move (Elton)
- Meeting with Richard and James on April 12 @ 1:30 pm. Review at beamline meeting yesterday. Jig pieces are being ordered. Delta E=4.65 - 6.2 GeV
- By straddling the vacuum chamber support, we can move the microscope downstream by 280 cm.
- Timeline to publication
- Table of responsibilities
- Discussion of submitting the Response to the ERR
- Elton: Reviewed the latest updates on the document. Is ready to submit. Rory will take a last look and make any necessary changes.
- The timelines and responsibilities were reviewed in group; no changes made.
- The response will be submitted to the ERR later today.
- MWPCs (fabrication, testing) (Rory)
- Status of MWPCs, shipment (some of this discussion has held earlier, but I place all comments together)
- Update on construction (Rory)
- Albert and Andrew and finishing off the last (8th) chamber; delayed last week due to some illness
- Albert and Andrew had their first shot on April 22; it will be about 6 weeks before vaccination cycle is complete.
- Schedule for bringing first shipment (4 chambers) of MWPCs to JLab is proposed for week of May 24th. Rory would drive down alone, drop off and fly back.
- Albert could come down to JLab once his vaccination period and paper work is complete
- This proposal allows the chambers to be at JLab so that we can start hooking up and making sure we have all the equipment needed for testing# GlueX Data Analysis
- Preparation (Beni)
- EEL 126 will be available at the end of May (Jack Segal and Walt Akers are in the loop)
- Will need some premix Ar/CO2 90/10. Rory clarified: it is 90/10 by VOLUME. Gas flow is 5 cc/s
- No show stoppers. If room for storage is needed, we can use the ESB
- Need cables and time for setup. [Note added: CPP Meeting next Wed morning will be on Electronics with Fernando and Chris]
- Need some tables to lay the chamber flat for cosmic testing.
- Rory: Will bring down a nice HV power supply controlled by an Arduino, instead of the Bertan
- Rory: Will also bring some lifting bars to move the chamber.
- Beni is working on a detailed plan for receiving and testing.
- Update on construction (Rory)
- Analysis (Andrew)
- Andrew updated the group on the analysis of Bethe-Heitler pairs
- He will show his work at the Calorimeter Working Group meeting at 11 am.
- Other business
- Next meeting
