Items for followup from previous meeting

  1. SiPMs (USM)
    • Provide histograms of all measured units for each specification at T=20 deg C and V=1.2 V above breakdown.
    • Send dump of data base. Provide the dump on a disk with the next shipment of SiPMs
  2. LIght guides
    • Check the light guides with the JLab template before shipping to verify compliance. Check with JLab if the units do not pass.

Minutes

Attending: Elton, David, Ivan, Yi, Beni, Eugene (JLab); Shaun, Zisis, Andrei (UofR); Stratos, Pavlos (Athens); Will (USM)

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. Talks at the Collaboration Meeting (Draft from last week)
    • Fcal (Matt)
    • UofR work (Zisis)
    • Monitoring (Christina if available)
    • USM update on SiPM and light guides- (Hayk will prepare)
  4. Update from Athens
    • Gluex-doc-2052 First bunch of 1000 BCAL LED miniboards
    • First 20 strings (200 LEDs) were shipped and received by JLab
    • Data statistics on the first 1000 LEDs were shown including stability
    • First 500 boards have been grouped according to intensity
    • Elton: Please send the data electronically. [Note: Stratos has already shipped the files].
    • Zisis: When will a schedule be shown for remaining deliveries? Christina should do this next week.
  5. Simulations
    • BCAL Simulation (David L.)
    • Goal is to add realism into the simulations in response to showers.
    • Ready to make the updated code the default simulation
    • Questions still remaining: effect of reconstruction and dark hits on resolution
    • Elton: When will Andrei be able to provide more realistic input for the shower simulation? Andrei: Having some problems with fitting and extraction of parameters. Will provide an status update at the next meeting. Also work continues on spectra obtained with the fine-grained calorimeter.
  6. Update from USM
    • Third shipment of MPPCs has been made, temporarily stuck in U.S. customs. [Update at the time of writing: Two boxes arrived yesterday]
    • Lightguide production is proceeding as planned. Measurement machine has been installed by technician from manufacturer, and training completed.
  7. Status of testing at JLab
    1. GlueX-doc-2053 Tests of pre-production readout assembly on mini-Bcal
      • Measurements of new pre-production boards on the mini-BCAL show that they will be acceptable to the experiment.
      • Write-up of studies is underway and will be made available later this week for feedback.
    2. GlueX-doc-2051 Cross talk and after pulsing (Ivan)
      • Measurements have been taken to separate cross talk and after-pulsing contributions by taking data with different gate widths and at various operating voltages.
  8. Beam Tests, Cosmics
