Minutes

Attending: Alex, Mark, Beni, Ilya, Rory, Elton

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
    • Mark promised to have an update on incoherent backgrounds by the next meeting
  3. Theory Update
  4. Calculations by Sergey Gevorkyan
    • Elton had a quick on the draft and Rory commented on the paper
    • It is a nice summary of the processes that are of interest to us
    • The basic formulas are derived but some variables need clear definitions. These will be passed on to Ilya offline.
    • Ilya: Serguei is looking for collaborators to fill out the paper, including making numerical calculations.
    • Ilya will dust off the FF calculations for the pi0 and see how to apply them to this reaction.
    • Elton is willing to help out.
  5. Readiness Review
    • Tentatively, we had discussed trying to schedule a Readiness Review early next year.
    • Eugene has tentatively considered putting CPP on the schedule for 2022.
    • Elton will coordinate with Tim to schedule our next CPP meeting for Thursday Nov 19 at 2 pm.
  6. Trigger
    • We need to have a discussion with Sasha regarding what needs to be done for the trigger. Rory suggested that we use the time for the CPP meeting on Wed for a discussion. Ilya will contact Sasha to check his schedule.
    • Elton: Consider multiple TOF configurations running simultaneously.
    • Need to adjust thresholds for TOF trigger. Beni: A single threshold setting covers many counters, so the response must be equalized. He is concerned there is a rate dependence of the gains, which needs to be understood. We can use the CPP data at low current (20, 40 nA) and compare with GlueX data.
    • Beni: The nominal threshold is 25 mV.
    • The FCAL response also needs to be equalized for the NPP trigger, and we prefer the lowest possible threshold consistent with an acceptable rate.
  7. Other business
  8. Next meeting
    • Friday, Nov 20 at 11 am.
