Minutes

Solenoid Coil Test

• Many items being delayed, steady progress on others.
• Still no signoff on platform support safety review.
• George is working on IUCF statement of work for coil 3 repair.
• Tom worked out a scheme whereby we move one cryo vessel and can then use the Anaconda and existing short U-tubes, so we do not need to purchase any.
• Still need control system diagrams and narrative for PLC programmer (Mark Wissman).
• Tom will take care of piping design and installation.
• Controls drawings still need updating.
• Still waiting for cryo can contract to be awarded.
• Many other magnet pieces have been ordered or are about to be ordered.
• Almost all controls instrumentation ordered or arrived.
• Two types of resistive temperature measurements, carbon with negative coefficient vs temperature, and carbon-glass.
• Carbon measures liquid level, mainly a binary measurement.
• Carbon-glass is a continuous, precision measurement.
• Probably will not need to design temperature measurement circuits since Steve Lassiter found Dataforth modules which should work. Chris Cuevas really does not want to make any new boards or modules, as his guys are swamped. Elliott will check with engineers to see if the Dataforth solution will work.

Electronics

No one from the Electronics group was present, but Elliott reported that Chris' notes showed steady progress and nothing unusual in the past two weeks.

• The new hire in the DAQ group arrives tomorrow, will work with Ed.
• Chris is trying to hire another engineer.
