Gluon work disk

Specifications for a work disk were sent to Sandy P. and Paul L. Sandy said she would look into getting a quote for a system from the company that has won contracts recently from JLab.

Run Preparations

New Run Period (2015-12)

The next run period will be RunPeriod-2015-12. This will be set up to start the first week of Dec.

RCDB

Dmitry R. is here for the next 6 months. He is still getting settled in, but has looking at the list of requests regarding RCDB and begun to prioritize it. First priority will be getting the outward facing web server up. Second will be getting a run based searches working with it. After that he will start working on merging in the other run conditions databases to RCDB so that they can be retired. Any specific requests should be forwarded to Dmitry soon so that he can plan the work since there are a number of other projects he will be working on while here.

Beginning of Run (BOR) record

  • No work has been done yet on the program to build the BOR event
  • Carl noted that there may be some details on flagging the BOR events so they the ER does the right thing with them that have not yet been work out. We will work with him offline to get the details worked out.
  • Alex noted that farm jobs will want access to the BOR as well so we'll need a way to deliver this to them whenever they start up.

DAQ system development

  • CODA 3.05 is being used routinely now with no know, major issues
  • Current version of f125 firmware looks sufficient for use in upcoming run
  • Cody is still working to address some issues with the hold off time and running at very high rates. If this can be fixed and the next firmware version tested, it may be installed, but is not required for the goals of the Fall run.
  • The extra chamber being used for TRD studies in the hall requires a dedicated firmware version due to very long readout window.

ROL modifications

SYNC events

  • This work has been basically complete for some time, by Alex has not had an opportunity to commit it to the repository.

L3/event tagging

  • No real progress here. There is a desire to perform some tests in the Fall run that may help determine how much additional CPU resource will be needed for the L3 and monitoring farm.
