Agenda

• Discuss Crimp pin design and manufacture
• Review spacer tube sealing
• Review Slava HV board mounting [[1]]
• Straw testing
• Polycarbonate machining

New Action Items

• Tim to pursue getting 10,00 Hall B crimp pins from Medelec since they have not completed the Hall B order yet
• Curtis to check effect of 200 micron hole in crimp pin on resolution (vs 100 micron)
• Slava to update Plastic wire insert drawing to match Hall B crimp pin
• Tim to send some crimp pins, al donuts and feedthrus to CMU to check. JLAB will hold on to remainder until CMU ready.
• Slava to produce drawings for swiss cheese plate and threaded insert for final review
• Gary to machine and thread polycarbonate plate to verify that this is the proper material
• Tim to update straw spec and drawings and get out to Lamina for quote.

Action Items/Decisions from Previous Meeting

• Slava to layout new setup to attach one connector stud to al plate and attach HV board directly to connector. will relocate connectors and check clearances with 8mm bend rad in wire
  • Complted work. Layout clearance good
• Tim to pursue Medelec 2 piece crimp pin quotes. Medelec said they could not make the one designed
  • Medelec will not make any more copper crimp pins of any design unless the order had already been placed. Tim Investigated other manufacturers to no avail. Hole/length ratio too small
• Beni to complete rad tests of straws in the next couple of weeks and send straws back to CMU for test
  • s traws back at CMU
• Have endplates delivered to JLAB for spot check of hole coordinates. Tim to arrange with survey group
  • Vendor to independently check with Faro arm. Do we still widh to bring these to JLAB?
• Fernando to look at stripping tools to reduce the need for large pcb on connector
  • Stripping tool located, inner pad 3mm, 2mm gap , HV outer pad 6mm. Total wdth of pcb 30.5mm, 8mm bend rad required for cable

Notes

• All agreed to pursue Hall B straight crimp pins. 200 micron hole, 12mm long, 1.47mm OD
• 3700 ea aluminum donuts and feedthru's received at JLAB
• Will pursue threaded insert to compress o-ring to wire for sealing
• Lamina 300A alum on Mylar tubes passed radiation test. Will pursue procuring these straws.
• Decided to have endplates shipped to JLAB fist for spot check
• Fernando will ship some new preamp cards to CMU in January
• Latest HV board connection layout accepted by all
