Goals for Calorimetry Group

  1. Determine preliminary photon reconstruction efficiencies as a function of E, phi and theta in data and simulation with a point-to-point precision of at least 5%.
  2. Measure systematics of pi0/eta mass calibration as a function of detector position to a precision of at least 5 MeV.
  3. Demonstrate agreement of photon resolution between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.
  4. Demonstrate agreement of photon reconstruction efficiency between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.

Minutes

Attendees: Mark, Malte, Eugene, Zisis

  1. Announcements: none
  2. Past Meeting Minutes: work is ongoing
  3. Review Action Items: as all coordinators were present and no other members, we decided to review all action items
    1. Short term: There are 2 items left:
      • 1 - check with Matt and Kevin
      • 2 - Regina will seek to assign someone to take over from Tolga
    2. Long Term: There are 2 items left:
      • 1 - Mark did this to a certain level and will assess whether we go to the next step (challenging). work would start with pull distributions (Simon did this for tracking). Work would be associated with particular physics channels.
      • 2 - Mark reported that this is a known issue connected to DAC chips. Sergei scans all channels for such effects. Mark will try to quantify and initiate the repair process.
    3. Work packages:
      • 2 - Moved to completed. An empirical correction could be developed (smile vs frown of non-linear response for BCAL) but it is not clear whether it is required (this is a <5% effect).
      • 11 - Sean should comment if he is satisfied with photons.
      • Parts of 8 and 9 are in the NIM papers (whole GlueX, and calorimeter papers). Fig 32 of cal paper could use higher stats.
  4. Detectors: no report
    1. FCAL/ECAL
    2. BCAL
  5. Calibration: no report
  6. Monitoring: no report
  7. Reconstruction: no report
  8. Simulations: ni report
  9. Any other business: none
