  2. To join via Polycom room system go to the IP Address: 199.48.152.152 (bjn.vc) and enter the meeting ID: 907185247.
  3. To join via phone, use one of the following numbers and the Conference ID: 907185247.
    • US or Canada: +1 408 740 7256 or
    • US or Canada: +1 888 240 2560
  4. Upon connection all microphones are automatically muted. To unmute your mike on a Polycom or equivalent unit, enter *4. Unmuting on a computer is trivial as there is a microphone button than can be clicked.
  5. More information on connecting to bluejeans is available.

Minutes

Attendees: Mark, Elton, Jon, Zach, Yi (JLab);

  1. Announcements
    • First meeting in the Hall D counting house. We had BlueJeans up and running but no one else joined. Hopefully there were no connection problems.
    • The online group (David and Sergey) will be doing tests on Thu mornings, so individual groups should plan accordingly.
  2. Action Items
  3. FCAL HDFCAL log book
    1. Environment (Zach)
      • Environmental conditions have not been constant and effort was invested in learning how to optimize A/C settings.
      • During initial settings, the humidity was varying between 35 and 55% with a 20 min period. Temperatures were up as high as 60 degF.
      • With the A/C off, the humidity is between 55-60%, T~ 70degF
      • Interlocks on pmt voltage are set to trip at 65% humidity and 90 degF.
      • Junction box controlling the environment parameters failed and the system was off for a while. The voltage supply was replaced and is now working again. Chris (Stanislav) has ordered additional spares.
      • After adjustments, the humidity is about 40% and Temperature at 60 deg F and they seem relatively stable.
    2. Base ADC readback (Zach)
      • The readback of HV, temp and current shows instabilities (see log book). Effort is underway to verify that it is just the readback or changes in the actual values.
      • Mark: Suggest to adjust wait times in the code to see if readback is being affected. There are four different wait times that can be adjusted, but it was not known how often the bases are being polled. Zach is getting advice from Dan Bennet on the readout.
      • Mark: Suggest to plot LED pulses vs time to see if there is any instability in pmt response.
      • Data is now input into EPICS and history can be viewed using the MyaViewer
    3. Data Checking (Jon)
      • So far not seen major instability in pulses, but detailed investigation continues
      • Mark: Looked at data with JANA and verified that the translation table is working as advertised. He also has scripts that can be used to monitoring data
      • Platform has been moved twice recently and it was verified that the moves have not broken any pmts.
      • Question about Flash ADC overflow values: 4096 and 8192. Elton: From memory, the first correspond to underflows and the second to overflows. The 12-bit valid data ranges from 0-4095. Precise definitions of overflows will be clarified, especially the meaning of underflows. Jon said that several messages are output from the code when this condition is met.
  4. BCAL HDBCAL log book
    1. Cosmic-ray data
      • The north side of energy loss by cosmics is shown in each cell. The systematics of horizontal (e.g. module 1) vs vertical modules (e.g. module 12) is noticeable. Also differences between upstream and downstream
      • Comments during the meeting: Check 45-48 (downstream) ch 8-11 have high pedestals. This may be a LV grouping and should be investigated.
      • Modules 37, 38 ch 5 up vs down should be investigated.
    2. DAQ modes (Mark)
      • Mark has taken data with different DAQ modes and read in through JANA. It seems to recognize all the modes and on the surface makes sense. No threshold was used, so the entire window is integrated and timing is set to the beginning of the window. More data will be taken with a threshold to continue to investigate the sparcified DAQ modes.
      • The setup has been changed to include the ability to change configuration files using bcal.cnf. Three configuration files are available: LED, cosmic and pulser mode. The default is pulser files.
      • When using this configuration, the output from the ROCs should be checked that they are using the correct files.
      • Will start looking into reading out the TDCs next week. This afternoon he will be working with Husseing to get the TOF working.
  5. Reconstruction and Simulation
  6. Technical Construction Report (TCR) update
    • Matt has made progress on drafts for the FCAL section.
  7. Calibration
  8. Any other business
