Items for followup from previous meeting(s)

  1. Monitoring
    • USM: Send drawings of guides to be machined (soon). Send 4 unpolished guides to UofR and 2 unpolished guides to Athens.
    • Bcal: Testing to see if LED sources can be viewed by pmts on both sides of the module (UofR/UofA).
  2. Fcal
    • Decision on rad hard detectors
    • Ashot to send type of Hamamatsu pmt used for PRIMEX
    • Elton and Ashot to meet and resolve any discrepancies between the simulations.

Minutes

Attendees: Beni, Jim Murphy (EHSQ), Pedro, John, Elton (Jlab); Ryan (IU); Will, Alam (USM); Andrei (UofR).

  1. Announcements
  2. FCAL Fabrication Readiness Review\
    • Jim will send us the form that they use to review projects
    • Bruce (Lenzer) asked if they could visit subcontractors
    • Special questions regardind welding of Fcal frame and whether shops were code qualilfied
    • Elton mentioned that following the Readiness Review there will be an approvals for electronics and the support structure, which may be the time that shop qualifications will be verified.
    • Ryan will have the John/Matt post the most up-to-date documents in advance of the Review
  3. Review of Action Items
    • Will to remind Inaki to send drawings of light guides being produced.
  4. Calibration/Monitoring (Zisis)
  5. FCAL
    1. Construction status
    2. To shashlyk or not to shashlyk.
      • Radiation damage studies of the Pb glass will likely be repeated at IUCF with a current monitor to check the normalization of doses to the detectors.
  6. BCAL
    1. Construction Status
      • Module 11 60% complete, Module 12 65% complete
      • Fiber shipment #13 under test for attenuation lengths
      • Npe measurements postponed to allow DAQ to be used for test acceptance for gaps between sensor and light guide
      • Cosmic ray measurements will start soon
      • Machining of 5-8 is 70% complete at Ross machining
    2. Fibre QA: Media:Shipment11_Npe.png and Media:Shipment12_Npe.png
      • Elton noted that exchanges with Kuraray regarding anomalous Kuraray measurements of attenuation for 11 and 12 seem to have found a problem with the Kuraray data. This is being tracked down.
  7. Simulations
    • Planing for simulations to calculate the energy deposited in cosmic ray setup for a given trigger and geometry.
  8. USM update
    • 3 light guides completed
    • chiller arrived today
    • Serguei took 2 light guides to CERN to mail to Athens.
    • MOU is getting signatures today.
