Notes on meeting with H-B engineering staff

E.Wolin, 20-Jul-2006

Bert Manzlak, responsible for safety in the Physics Div, also attended. Note that I will be away for the next three weeks, so Elton will coordinate this meeting until I return.

- all work is on schedule (Doug, Eric). Eric will ship 16-Aug for arrival around 21-Aug. He will be here when everything arrives. Note...need to coordinate with URegina to ensure BCAL module arrives at the correct time (Zisis).

- TPE may add 2 cm collimator downstream of the Frascati magnet (Dave). This should not be a problem for us.

- Everyone is happy with Dave's drawings of the alcove, platform, plate, etc.

- Platform/plate needs to be grounded (Doug).

- Cannot connect anything to handrails (Bert). Doug will install Eric's kill switch on the veto/bpm stand at the entrance to the platform. 110V is ok if the cord is protected (Bert). Doug will take care of this.

- much discussion of Eric's draft installation plan. Shipment will be sent to Doug, who will handle logistics of delivery, transport into the hall, etc. Eric will be on-site at the time.

- need operating plan for the BCAL cart (Eric). Need additional kill switch near reset. Limit switches are included in design. BCAL controls will likely need to be tested by review committee in late Aug. Operating plan needed to complete safety documentation for the test.

- brief discussion of Eric's first draft doc concerning safety information for the cart. So far so good.

- surveyors will do all work before we take over. I.e. no surveying planned after approx 18-Aug.

- surveyors will leave marks that will allow us to install and align the laser leveling system. Doug will supply bracket on the wall for laser.

- Elliott met with Dennis Skopic concerning full documentation for the test. H-B COO can be used. Need TSOP for BCAL/cart (Elliott,Eric), RSAD (Elliott,Erik Abkemeir from RadCon), plus other misc doc (Elliott). Elliott will be the default contact for safety issues (Bert).
