Attendees:Beni, Yi, Elton (JLab); Andrei (UofR); Alam (USM).
- Announcements
- Second shipment of Bcal modules delivered to JLab. They have been unloaded onto the parking lot. They will be transfered to the warehouse on Warwick Blvd. this afternoon.
- Review of Action Items
- Update - USM
- Serguei and Will are on travel.
- Light guides shipped to Regina, should arrive next week.
- Simulation runs
- Irina will start simulation runs of energy deposition in module next week.
- Cosmic-ray setup at UofR
- Tests are underway. Data for one point collected, and a second point taking data. No analysis yet. Measurements are being affected by power outages.
- Goal is to have data at five points along the module to determine the conversion Mev/p.e. and attenuation length in the actual calorimeter module (not just bare fibers).
- Expect results in August.
- Geometry
- SiPM Radiation Hardness Test (Update from Yi)
- SiPM samples (1mm2 and 3mm2) are ready for testing, but awaiting Carl to return next week. They will then be irradiated using the calibrated AmBe source from RadCon, and retested.
- Estimates for dark current to increase by a factor of 10 using new dose calculations by Pavel Degtiarenko from Radcon, are 1.2-1.6 years for H and 0.8-1.0 years for He at 100% running. For a "typical" year of 10^7 s, this translates into about 4 years for H and about 3 years for He.
- We will plan to have a dedicated meeting the week of July 12 to review all relevant input to deciding to proceed with the SiPM procurement.
- Light guides
