Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - HV long cable: Sammy and Mindy have to assemble 10 cables
    • - HV distribution boards [1][2]
    • - Fix front panel of two LV distribution boards, re-install the boards on the detector frame [3]
    • - LED: Started testing the prototype of the LMS (need to make the detector room light tight)
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob / Laveen
    • Report from students [4]
    • Installation of HV cables [5][6]
- two remaining bundle of cables will be ready in about a week
  • Students -- Sasha
    • - Expect one student from Wuhan, waiting for the US visa
  • Beam tests with the PS
      • measure shower beam profile and reconstruction in the crystal/LG transition region
      • (install prototype with 5x5 PbWO4 modules + ? LG)
  • Other hardware projects
    • prototype of the ECAL veto counter (?)
  • Analysis/Simulation
  • New manpower for the upcoming run and data analysis, -- Liping

Minutes

Attendees: Bill, Laveen, Liping, Jane, Vlad, Sasha, Axel, Susan, Stjepan, S.T.

  • Front panel of two LV distribution boards needed to be fixed
  • 2 HV cable bundles each containing 9 cables are in Hall, 1 more bundle has been assembled
  • Waiting for HV distribution boards, due in ~2 weeks
  • 6 PMT divider layers remain to be installed
    • Found some common problems: weak solder joints, bad connectors
    • One short cable needed to be swapped out
    • Added velcro band to connect chains (supporting cables) together
  • Laveen presented an update on 2-shower separation studies
    • Separation efficiency at small separation distances depends on energy asymmetry of two showers and total energy
  • Liping reported that a professor from the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) is interested in joining GlueX to work on JEF physics
  • Vlad pointed out that we need to make sure that the test setup in one arm of the PS setup in the Hall D we have used in the past is restored
    • Could use this to measure shower profile + study lead glass-lead tungstate interface with small-scale prototype
      • Will need hardware design/CAD drawings for box to contain crystals and lead glass blocks
    • Test veto prototype? Thin scintillator paddles with wave-length shifting fibers
    • Sasha thinking about run plan for usage of this arm, will work on a wiki page
