Items for followup from previous meeting(s)

  1. Monitoring
    • Send additional SiPMs to Athens for tests (Elton)
    • Measure stability of light intensity as a function of time. Measurement in progress, will report at a later meeting.
    • Jlab to generate a drawing of the plexiglass sheet to be used in next batch of tests.
    • Specify/clarify requirement for monitoring light uniformity into the Pb glass (Matt)
  2. FCAL
    • Send IU the drawings for the FCAL welded frame. (Tim)

Minutes

Attending: Zisis, George, Andrei (UofR); Alam, Ricardo (USM); Christina, George, Pavlos (Athens); Elton, David, Yi, John D., Eugene, John L. (Jlab); Matt, Kei (IU);

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. Monitoring.
    • Action items need to be acted on. Elton will check up on drawing for plexiglass.
    • Matt checked work by Claire Tarbert. GlueX document assumes that input monitoring constants are determined to +/- 20%. Suggest illumination uniformity of plane to be within +/-20% of mean.
    • Mail exchanges with Kappos, promised delivery of design by mid Jan for Jlab approval.
    • George: Intensity test are ongoing to determine stability of system. Will report at a later meeting.
  4. Beam tests in Hall B (fall 2011) (John)
    • Collecting data for several weeks
    • Daq issues found and resolved.
    • Aligning detector using coincidences of trigger counters. Finding alignment such that there is uniform distribution around triggered counter
    • Gain balancing is under way
    • Dave Lawrence is taking advantage of the beam test to develop some online tools for viewing the data
    • One base is acting up and is under investigation
    • Data is being logged onto the elog hdfcaltest
  5. FCAL
    1. Construction Status: mechanical, bases (notes from Matt)
    • Received the second batch of 100 boards. 10 had soldering/cleaning problems.
    • Continue to assess the pmts
  6. BCAL
    1. Construction Status: builds, mini module
      • Last Bcal modules arrived intact this morning. Modules 45-49 + mini-Bcal
      • The support frame for the mini-Bcal was also included. A manual is available at a time that the detector will be assembled
    2. Fibres
      • All fibers have been measured.
      • Evaluation is not yet complete, but will be summarized into a final report
      • There is left over lead and fibers (approx. 10,000 fibers)
      • Spectral analysis of one fiber from each of the batches has been taken at various positions along the fiber for reference
    3. Celebration event
      • Date is not yet final 27 or 30 of Jan.
      • Claus is waiting to make travel arrangements.
  7. USM update
    • PDE data is now appearing on web site
    • Data for testing the web interface is almost complete
    • There a still some mapping problems, which need to be resolved
    • Student is working on fitting data.
    • Yi took a first look at some spectra and finds some non-linearities between peaks
    • Decided to try to find a time on Friday to discuss the USM data
  8. Readiness Review: Testing of light sensors for Bcal
  9. Simulations/Reconstruction: Standalone MC, leakage at 12 degrees
    • Simulations have been completed at 12 degrees to cover the angular range on the Bcal
    • Leakage was studied out the front (albedo), back, sides and ends. Leakage was measured, and is about 8% at high energies.
    • Simulations were conducted for B=0.
  10. Any other business
