Comparison of March 2007 and March 2008 Resolutions

The plots on this page show a comparison between the March 2007 and March 2008 total momentum resolutions obtained from hdgeant. Several geometry changes were made between these two studies. Most notably:

  1. Material reduction in FDC
  2. Active area changed of FDC (both inner and outer)
  3. Locations of all FDC packages moved upstream
  4. CDC length shortened
  5. CDC added inner layers

When looking for features, it may be worth noting that the outer, downstream corner of the CDC was at about 20o for the 2007 geometry and at about 30o for the 2008 geometry.

Also note that the straw tubes were changed from pure Kapton to Aluminized Kapton resulting in more mass in the CDC in 2008 when compared to 2007.

The general trend seems to be that the resolutions got worse between θ=20o and θ=30o and better for θ≤15o
