Here is a summary of a brief CDC tracking meeting we had on Mon., Sept. 29th.

In attendance: Curtis M., Elton S., Elke A., Simon T., Beni Z., David L.

David Showed these PPT slides.

The meeting was focused on defining the next round of CDC simulation studies. The conclusions as I remember them are given below.

  1. We would ask Mark (not present at the meeting) to look into simulating charge division in the CDC. Mark had agreed to this in principle at a previous meeting. It was felt that the priority level on this, however, has risen slightly since then.
  2. David will look at 4 geometries using the old least-squares fitter.
    • The configurations are given below.
    • Beni has already supplied David with XML files that either contain or can be trivially changed to contain these geometries
    • A conventional hit residual χ2/Ndof will be included in the generated plots.
  3. We will meet on Wednesday (Oct. 1) at 13:00 so Mark and Elton can present some results from work they have recently done.
  4. We will meet again on Monday(Oct. 6) at 13:30 at our normal bi-weekly tracking meeting time. Any results David has at that point will be shown.

NOTE: A new table containing additional geometries can be found here: November 17, 2008 Tracking CDC/FDC

These represent the axial/stereo configurations that will be studied via simulation. The orientation is listed from outermost layer (top) to innermost layer (bottom).

Relative φ-shifts between layers is implemented in all designs for axial wires. Stereo wires are also φ-shifted for geometries "C" and "D".
