BCAL reconstruction 8/24/11

Summary

  • BCAL reconstruction seemed to be an obstacle in b1pi events
  • Two reconstruction algorithms in tree: KLOE algorithm=default, "new" algorithm by matt s.
  • Found two issues which lead to poor energy resolution at low E (fixes not checked in yet)
  • "New" algorithm seems to be doing well for single-photon events
  • Further study of b1pi, etc.
  • Further fine-tuning needed, but maybe should wait until BCAL segmentation finalized?

BCAL Reconstruction algorithms

  • KLOE algorithm: currently default
  • GlueX algorithm: by Matt Shepherd "New" BCAL Reconstruction Algorithm
  • GlueX+: Fixed a bug that prevented some DBCALPoint from being considered; lowered energy threshold to seed cluster, minSeed, from 20 MeV to 10 Mev.

Single photon event sample

Single photon efficiency

Exclude all events with tracking hits (include only events where we actually expect to reconstruct a single photon)

KLOE: 99%

GlueX: 98.5%

GlueX+: 99.5%

Energy resolution

These plots use E_raw, not the corrected/calibrated E. They also exclude events with tracking hits.
