Action Items from previous meetings

  1. Develop front and back views of jumper sheets. (Jack)
    • This specifically includes the settings for the pre-production boards that are needed by Wed of next week.
  2. Test wrapping forms (Elton)
  3. Order glue (and any other consumables) to glue light guides (Scot)

    • Yesterday we received the second shipment of 600 SiPMs from USM. They sailed through customs
  4. SiPM production testing (everyone)
    • SiPMs assignment for new boards
    • Shaun Krueger (student from UofR) has made a list of 80 SiPMs to be fitted to the pre-production boards
    • Shaun has also compiled an assignment list of SiPMs to electronic boards for all 4000 sensors.
    • Shaun's approach is to group SiPMs according to Vop.
    • Replaced one R2 resistor with a fixed ~6KOhm resistor to compensate for low precision resistor value. Result is a 3 resistor trim, but covers the range needed
    • Pre-production boards will be different from the production boards to avoid changing many resistors. Only one resistor per SiPM needs to be changed on the pre-production board.
    • Final production units will have fixed values for the trim resistors, but different from the ones on the pre-production modules.
  5. Mechanical assembly (Jim)
    • Glued thermistor boards to cooling plate
    • Redesigned the clamping fixture
    • Mechanical drawings are being checked; no subassemblies yet
    • Mechanical hardware for pre-production boards all in house
  6. Temperature compensation (Jack)
    • Generated jumper sheets for pre-production boards
    • SiPMs have been selected and given to Chris for the pre-production boards
  7. Electronic boards (Chris)
    • All thermistor and U boards are in
    • Cables are in
    • BCal LED monitoring board micro-Dsub connection done
    • Thermal Mats cut
    • Lemo board HFL interconnect board will arrive next week
    • HFL cables (production) will be ordered as soon as the pre-production assembly is checked
  8. Electronic boards (Fernando)
    • Need to find a good way of storing the SiPMs in preparation for installation
    • Detailed testing of pre-production boards is underway. Grounding copper lines on the pre-production boards was increased from 1oz and 0.5 oz to 2 oz and 1 oz, respectively
    • Balancing the requirement of reduced gain and ringing on the board is underway. The evaluation of the limits of the design will be completed by tomorrow.
    • Requests that we re-evaluate the requirement of reducing the gain by 2.5.
