Items for followup from previous meeting

  1. Ship Baby Bcal to USM (Will to provide payment information to Zisis)
  2. Make progress on USM MOU document (Elton, Will, Eugene)
  3. Optimization of Bfield direction and magnitude relative to pmt
  4. Light collection efficiencies for light guides for "USM" geometry.

Documents to Review

Tentative Agenda

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. USM report
  4. [Bcal Readout Review (July 21) Recommendations
    1. Develop a comprehensive test plan for the expected 10 units of SIPM assemblies from Hamamatsu and SensL, including the testing of long term stability and reliability, and operation at close to realistic (radiation) conditions.
    2. Make the choice of photo-sensor system for the BCAL and place an order only after obtaining and analyzing the results of the above tests. The Committee is aware that this could cause a few months delay of the fabrication/installation schedule, but considers the tests and analyses to be of higher value.
  5. Plan for SiPM Testing (Carl)
  6. Simulations
  7. Discussions on MOU with USM

Minutes

Attending: JLab:Elton, Beni, Carl, UofR: George, Andrei, USM: Will, Alam

  1. Announcements
    • None
  2. Review of Action Items
    • Baby cal - officer at university in charge of "internment" has been notified. Letter drafted by Zisis has been supplied. Waiting for outcome from university. Costs (if any) still unsettled.
  3. USM report
    • Plan for prototyping light guides has been itereated at USM. Will post to portal for feedback. Send link out to listserver after posting.
5. Plan for SiPM Testing (Carl)
    • GlueX-doc-1320 Test plan for new SiPM arrays
    • Initial thoughts based on previous discussions
    • Divide list between "high priority" and "long term" items for evaluation
    • Elton: Need to make sure that all items that are needed to make decision on readouit are in the "high priority" category
    • Discussion how much of radiation acceleration tests should be attempted for evaluation of initial samples.
    • Will proceed with a more formal document
    • George: Consider which measurements could be performed quickly at UofR. Note that some of the SiPM testing conflicts with fiber measurements.
    • Will: USM would also like to assist in measurements if possible. Reviewing the test plan with an eye toward using such a plan for acceptance testing if SiPM are selected.
    • Will: Asked about measurements at different wavelengths. Carl: Measurements are planned at 470 nm (mean wavelength expected from fiber at 200 cm away). Measurements at other wavelengths are possible, but not considered highest priority.
  6. Simulations
  7. Discussions on MOU with USM
    • Elton: promised (once again) to provide draft to Will next week.
