Minutes

Attending: Matt (IU), Yi, Eugene, John D., John L., Elton, Beni (JLab); Christina, Pavlos, George (Athens)

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. Monitoring
    • Order for boards left CERN on 4/12, but company claims they did not receive it. After reissuing request, delivery to CERN is expected for May 7.
    • Note: first order went through without any hitches, but later orders have been plagued by problems.
    • Group will meet with Zisis, Kappos and George on Friday to discuss how to move forward.
    • Elton should check status of control boards at JLab
  4. Cable Labels
    • Fcal: John is working out details of mapping. Matt suggested an undergraduate could complete the detailed mapping]
    • Bcal: Need to assign crate locations and check cable lengths once again.
  5. FCAL
    1. Cockcroft Walton bases from Total electronics.
      • Received ten more boards, but they are officially well behind milestones suggested 3 weeks ago. The boards came without specific information
      • have 2000 TRAN boards and almost all the connector boards
      • 3rd party effort to coat boards was unsuccessful. They suggest they try a different coating. However humiseal has been used effectively to coat the underside of components and do not want to go through other changes at this time. They can apply multiple coats and test various viscosities.
      • Waiting on socket boards to be able to start base assembly.
      • At the moment it appears Total is incapable of sustained quality production
      • Have hired a second undergraduate to work over the summer to assist in keeping to the schedule.
    2. 2500 pmt glued to light guides and tested
    3. Al structures machined at IU should be finished in about 3 weeks
      • Welded steel structure (outside vendor) should arrive about that time
      • Note: This is a good time to check that any machining of passages for cables, tapped holes for monitoring boards and plexiglass support are all in place.
      • Check that there is space between the window frames on the glass and the plexiglass (the frames have sharp edges)
  6. Beamtest
    • See Beam test log book for details
    • Chiller failed and is being replaced. A remote switch will be added so that the power can be turned on/off remotely.
  7. TDR update
    1. Instructions for the TDR (You must be logged into the wiki to access this page).
    2. We need to start revising Chapter 4 Detector, Section 4.3 Calorimetry.
    3. Calibration of Calorimeters
  8. Any other business
