Attendees: Elton, Beni (JLab); Shaun (UofR); Will, Alam, Alison, Elias (USM); Athens tried to connect; Matt (IU)

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Monitoring
  4. FCAL (Matt)
    • Stacking nearly complete, waiting on shipment from IU
    • Assembling dark room components at IU.
    • Repairing remaining bases at IU. Dan is returning to IU to help out. He and Zach will be returning with materials, approximately June 1
    • Racks are up on platform. Cuts in the floor are marked, but some are waiting till dark room is in place to ensure they match
    • Elton past on the request to procurement to make a no-cost extension to the contract till the end of August. Expect an answer from Kathleen soon, she is on travel this week.
  5. BCAL (Elton)
    • Gluing problems are better understood: The glue is detaching from the light guide after about a day. This problem is found on most of the modules that have already been delivered to the hall.
    • Failures are consistent with adhesive failure due to non-uniform illumination during the gluing.
    • We are adjusting the procedures by a) sanding the base of the light guide b) making the illumination more uniform c) increasing the time for illumination tenfold.
    • There was discussion and suggestions on how to improve the procedures.
  6. Cosmics (Shaun)
    • Continues to work on the cosmic data and evaluating triggers with one and two scintillators.
  7. Light guides (Alison)
    • Investigating the best way of delivering the replacement light guides
    • Options include: Jlab returns light guides for exchange; new order is placed at a small price for replacements; replacements are sent as samples
    • For the first shipment, Jlab will return 84 light guides and these will be exchanged with new ones. The returned light guides can be reworked to specificiations if it saves effort.
  8. Reconstruction and Simulation
  9. TDR update
  10. Calibration of Calorimeters
  11. Any other business
