The field map linked below was created by Yang Guangliang (Glasgow, UK) on January 15, 2013. The current in the coils has been adjusted to give a central field in the dipole of approximately 15000G. The map grid has been constructed as follows.
- The z axis is defined as parallel to the long axis of the magnet poles, with the origin at the center of the magnet poles.
- The y axis is defined as perpendicular to the bend plane, pointing up, with the origin at the midplane between the poles.
- The x axis is defined as parallel to the short axis of the magnet poles, with the origin at the inner edge of the root of the poles.
- Only the region x>=0, y>=0, z>=0 is represented in the map. The field in the other 4 quadrants characterized by y<0 and z<0 are found by reflection through the planes y=0 and z=0.
