Karthik mentioned that for CPP/NPP (last year's numbers) layer 3 S/N was very poor; Sean said that there are newer numbers that might help with this.

Attendees: Mark, Igal, Stjepan, Sean, Karthik, Jon, Beni, Joerg, Rory, Eugene, Viviana, Victor, Zisis

  1. Zisis summarized the manpower situation in Regina and the need for additional persons to carry out calibrations for GlueX and the other experiments. Igal added that the EVIO set is comparable to GlueX, with no of tracks in PrimEx lower than GlueX.
  2. Stjepan showed the slides below. The procedure is mostly automated, with some operator intervention, which Igal mentioned can be further reduced by using automation he introduced for FCAL. Karthik added that occasionally (rarely) the fits fail (chi-squared criterion). Reasons can be i) if the fitted pi0 mass falls outside the 0.12-0.14 window, ii) if the pi0 width constraint is not met and iii) if the S/N is too low. Karthik mentioned that for CPP/NPP (last year's numbers) layer 3 S/N was very poor; Sean said that there are newer numbers that might help with this.
  3. Mark carries out the low level calibrations first.
  4. Igal will meet with Mark, Stjepan and Karthik to explain the automation and move the analysis from Stjepan's account to gxproj, which will results in higher priority.
  5. Karthik asked if we should calibrate every run. The answer was that there is no need to do this if the calibration stays steady, but this should be checked.
