  1. Announcements
    1. Elton: JLab is rolling out a new phone conferencing system. New access codes and procedures should be updated on communication documents. Presently both new and old systems are active.

    1. Agenda on the wiki was confirmed. Will should send me several slides about the USM work to include into the Readout talk and Christina and Zisis should send me slides for the monitoring talk.
  4. BCAL Monitoring Update
    1. Zisis updated the group on ongoing discussions between Zisis, Christina and Elton. A summary talk will be given at the collaboration meeting.
    2. The present scheme will have individual LEDs on each light guide connected via electrical cables to a driver board outside the readout enclosure.
    3. Outstanding issue: concern that many LEDs result in many points of failure and we need redundancy. A system is envisioned that will allow sensors on each side of the calorimeter to be seen by both BCAL ends (although with different LED settings).
    4. Calibration will be accomplished with pi0's on a daily basis. The monitoring system will check drifting during this period.
    5. Eugene: Should check with Ashot, which had experience with LED system for PRIMEX.
    6. Need to take a decision over the next couple of months on how to proceed.
    7. John inquired about the length of cable from LED to driver: George: Less than 3 m.
    8. Christina stressed that it is very important to make a decision so that the Athens group can move forward with construction.
