GlueX Collaboration Meeting Logistics

The spring 2011 meeting will be held May 9-11 at Indiana University.

Registration

Be sure to register for the meeting. Also, you can view the currently registered participants.

Location

The meeting will be at the physics department building on the Bloomington campus.

This is about an hour by rental car or shuttle from the Indianapolis airport. Most major rental chains service the airport. The airport shuttle is pretty convenient and stops directly at the Courtyard Marriott, IMU Biddle Hotel, and Holiday Inn. (However, the distance from Holiday Inn to the physics department is not easily walkable.)

Hotel

I'd encourage you to consider going ahead and making hotel reservations early to ensure you have a room. As far as recommended hotels, here are some options:

• On campus, 5 min walk to the physics building, by far the most convenient (parking is complementary):

A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the IMU Biddle Hotel. Give the name "GlueX" when making your reservation. The block will be released to the general public on April 8, 2011.

Parking

There is ample parking in the university-managed "Henderson garage" across the street from the physics building. I was told by parking operations that you can get a $9 visitor permit that covers all three-days of the meeting by visiting the parking operations office in the basement of the garage. (The posted garage rate $24 per day!)
