# Monitoring: the Athens board was made to work in Regina, following the replacement of the LED.  A healthy 1 V pulse was seen in a calibrated Hamamatsu PMT at 1640 V, with the LED operating just a bit above its threshold and positioned 1.5cm from the photocathode.  The original LED was retested on the bench and was found to work.  It has a higher threshold (3.2V vs 2.7V for the replacement) and may have had a bad connection.  The board fires at 62kHz. Next steps are to mount the LED on the Construction Prototype and detect its light in a two-sided readout setup.

  3. BCAL Construction Status:
      1. Modules 1-4 arrived at JLab on April 26; they were inspected and found in good condition. Module 1 was painted with black chalkboard paint, but it had been decided not to paint the remainder modules to ensure that no chemical vapours from the paint would affect the end faces during their long storage in crates.
      2. Procedural changes for swaging and layup are being documented and will be signed off.
      3. Modules 5 and 6 are at RMS awaiting machining
      4. Module 7 was completed and crated, and the top plate on Module 8 was going on today. The will be shipped to RMS on Monday and all four will go in the machine queue (about two weeks before machining starts). Delivery to Jlab mid to end of June.
      5. Modules 9 and 10 go on the presses within the next few days.
