Detailed Activities
- Beam established following Hall D procedures [1]
Prior to beam activities
- Hall D techs Beamline assembled and pump
- Hall D techs Ramp up the magnet
Calibration before production runs
Estimated time (1 Shift)
- Establish typical tagged photon beam
- Harp scans for the electron Beam (and PS)
- Initial detector check out
- Equalize CCAL gains (calibrate CCAL)
- TAC run ??
DAQ checkout
Lower DAQ thresholds for MIPs. Starting numbers from previous studies:
- E(BCAL)>180 MeV
- E(FCAL)>250 MeV
- 1 hit in start counter
- 78 kHz, 90% livetime, 1 GB/s
Luminosity Scan
- 1M(?) events runs with the following currents 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 nA
- Ideal Rate 80 kHz (91% livetime)
Production runs with 4He
- Production run with 4He for 12 days
- 2 shifts for setup and Compton running
Empty Cell Runs
Estimated time (2 Shifts)
- Target group pumps out the LHe from the target cell.
- Target group bring up to room temperature.
- Target group pump out of the cell.
- Runs with Empty Cell target (1 shift).
Production runs with D
- Target group cool down the cell filled with liquid D (Estimated time 1-2 shifts)
- Detector and DAQ checkout
- Production run with D for 2 days
Target swap to C ladder
Estimated time (5 Shifts: 1 Day)
- With Radcon support, Hall D techs uncable and remove start counter from cryostat
- With Radcon support, Target Group secures target gas, inerts the target piping, and bleeds vacuum chamber to atmospheric pressure
- With Radcon support, Target Group removes foam portion of cryostat
- With Radcon support, Target Group removes foam portion of cryostat
- With Radcon support, Target Group removes superinsulation around target cell
- With Radcon support, Target Group removes target cell
- With Radcon support, Target Group mounts Carbon ladder in place of the gas cell
- With Radcon support, Target Group, Foam portion of cryostat is put back in place, vacuum pumps on
- With Radcon support, Hall D techs Start counter put back in place, cables attached
- With Radcon support, Hall D techs Target inserted into solenoid
- Survey adjusts position in solenoid
- Hall D techs Beamline assembled and pump
- Hall D techs Ramp up the magnet
Production runs with C
Run at nominal conditions for 9 days.
