Reports
- omega yields at 900nA -- Justin
- TAGM bunch time structure -- Hovanes
- occasional rapid access for tending PS test setup -- Sasha
- End of run plan executed:
- solenoid ramp-down started 14:10
- raw mode data collected during ramp-down
- many fdc current trips, understood these were expected
- solenoid ramp-down completed at 18:40 -- earlier than expected?
- current reduced to 50nA, still seeing fdc trips
- straight track runs taken in both raw mode and regular mode
- straight track run plan completed, continued taking straight-track data in mode 9
- beam taken away at 6:00
Issues
- occasional y position instability
- occasional daq problems, experts consulted
- TOF sector HV dropped w/o alarm, recovered
- DIRC tile temperature alarms
Plans
- straight track running plan -- completed
Friday March 17
Past 24 hours
- Dropped to RESTRICTED for tours at 3:45pm 3/16
- Temperature in the hall rose to >77 degrees, recovered in time
- Visits ended by 7:00pm
- Hall D swept and requested beam restoration
- Started off with new harp scans, then continued production
- Beam accounting point of interest: tour down was counted as BANU
Shift Summaries
Reports
- one fcal base changed
- more raw mode data taken (run 121163) around noon
- Beam energy variation over 2023 run
- Beam current stability
- Beam position stability
Issues
- Parsing issue with rocBCAL7 (rocID=37 and slot=16), recovered by power cycling rocbcal7
- TAGM column 16, fadc250 stopped counting in middle of run around noon, run ended, recovered by power cycling roctagm1
- Problem writing raw data to tape resolved, transfer to tape resumed
- Issue writing to local disk blocked DAQ during 121161, resolved by Sergey and running resumed
- Lockup of fcal bases continues regularly, resolved by reset procedure at the end of run (or sometimes on its own!)
- Problems with radiator harp scans happened again, resolved by Hovanes restarting IOC, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4150880 working again at 9:45pm]
- Coherent edge (blue points) on CBREM gui spectrum not updating, work-around by bringing up separate fit tool
Plans
- Another high current run at 900 nA during the day today?
- we still have ~8hr of 900nA running in our allowance -- discussed at 8:00 meeting
- main participants needed: Justin, Sasha, Lubomir, Naomi
- trigger conditions already established for stable DAQ at 75kHz event rate @ 900nA [1][2]
- Continue running production
- Straight-track run ~50nA
- planned for March 19th Sunday swing
- magnetic field ramped down
- access not required
- people to contact: Justin, Sasha, Lubomir, Naomi
- After beam goes away, one shift of BCAL LED data requsted -- Mark Dalton, Varun
Plans on Accelerator Side
- Hall C running continues, no apparent issues that might interrupt them before Monday
Regular Production Cycle
- Production (300 nA, 2h runs) with cycle:
- 2 runs PARA (0/90)
- 3 runs PERP (0/90) (one additional run per cycle for next 2 cycles, to catch up with PARA 0/90 -RTJ)
- 2 runs PARA (45/135)
- 2 runs PERP (45/135)
- 1 run AMO (use it to rejuvenate AMO reference in CBREM EPICS GUI)
Thursday March 16
Past 24 hours
- Tagger Hall Access requested by Hovanes
- came as a surprise to RADCON and MCC crew
- discussion during the 8:00 meeting
- we can do better
- High current run(900 nA)
Shift Summaries
Reports
- Summary of > 480 nA current running this period (60% of 24 hours utilized to this point)
- Summary of trigger threshold scan and 1 billion events collected at 900 nA
Issues
- Parsing issue with rocBCAL7 (rocID=37 and slot=16), suggest FADC250 replacement
Plans
- Continue running production
- Visitors tour of Hall D starts at 4:45pm 3/16
- Data collection should end sometime after 4:00pm, when convenient before 4:20
- Contact MCC and ask to drop Hall D to RESTRICTED, tagger hall not affected
- Ask them to contact RADCON to sweep Hall D for the visit
- Visit should end by 6:45pm
- As soon as they leave, put Hall D back in Power Permit and request beam restoration
- Start off with new harp scans, then continue production
- Straight-track run ~50nA
- planned for March 19th Sunday swing
- magnetic field ramped down
- access not required
- people to contact: Justin, Sasha, Lubomir, Naomi
Plans on Accelerator Side
