- The four rails inside BCAL that will support the FDC, CDC, and the mesh were installed, but not adjusted. Survey of the BCAL position has been done, but we haven't seen the results yet. Next, depending on the BCAL position, the rails have to be aligned, that will take several days survey people working there. Bill: if they can't be adjusted to the nominal distance, we will have to re-adjust the distance between the rails on the carts. It will not be easy to adjust the rails on the cart where the FDC is, but Bill says it's doable.
+
- Work on the platform in the Hall continues. The opening between the cart rails is not so wide, it will be difficult to cable the bottom of the FDC. Eugene: can't we lift the FDC during the cabling then put it back on rails? Will wait for Bill to answer, but one likely problem is the surveying that has to be done without cables. It was not clear how so many FDC cables will run below the platform perpendicular to the many trays there below the racks: the sides of these cable trays are very close to the platform.

- The techs will start soon the installation of the FDC platform. The space between the two rails on the platform (holding the carts) is very small, it will be very difficult to work at the bottom side of the packages. The racks have not been installed yet, first cable holes have to be cut. The electronics will not be installed until all the dirty work is finished.
+
- Fernando wanted to have a list of people that will work on the FDC cabling so that they can be trained in advance. Vlad, Lubomir, and Beni are the first in the cable list. Casey and Tina were assumed, as well, but according to Fernando they will be busy with Tom for at least the next two month. There will be also three people from FEL helping with the cabling. Vlad and Lubomir know how to connect the LV cables (there's schematic, but it's difficult to find the connectors on the detector) and only the LV connections will take at least a week. Beni: we can test the LV connection right away by looking at the current. Fernando: is it possible to connect the LV cables in advance to the FDC? Possibly, but installing/re-installing the skin will be more difficult, moving the FDC to another cart will also be difficult, and there's not enough space in 126 around the FDC. Fernando is concerned that it is not clear yet where the control equipment will be installed.

- We discussed a lot if the BCAL cable and infrastructure installation will interfere with the FDC installation. Bill: certainly prior to the FDC installation the two cooling rings (manifolds) have to be installed; the whole cooling system have to be tested, but what about the signal cables? It's not clear if the Nitrogen cooling, cables for the control and monitoring system also have to be installed in advance. Not all of these subsystems are ready, some have not been decided yet. Beni proposed to ask Elton to explain their plans on the next FDC meeting so that we can synchronize our activities.
+
- We know now that the FDC during the installation can stay no more than 5-6 feet from the magnet. This space will be used by BCAL people to work there simultaneously  with us; need to coordinate all the work with them. The watter cooling system they use for BCAL will not be done before we start cabling and will be tested while FDC is there.

- Gas system: Scott started some work in the gas room: installing the rack and the holder for the mixture volume; the fridge is ready. Cooling system: Floyd Martin is working on the connection to the chill water, it will be done with plastic tubes (Bill).

- Bill was not at the meeting but sent an update before: Casey has de-burred the plastic angles for the skin, but is busy now in the Hall. We need him however to install the skin on the FDC. We need a tech to work on the mesh in ESB; all the parts including the new side support, are there.

- Beni will start working on a mini DAQ to be used to test the cables when connecting them to the detector. We will need one fADC and one F1TDC module as they are in two VXS crates. Will trigger from a generator and just look for a noise.

- Fernando: full crate test of the new F1TDC is done, the crates are ready to go in the Hall. Cody is working on the crate test of the fADC125.

- Bill has all the parts for the metal plates to be attached on the sides of the packages. For the skin, the g10 pieces are ready; Anatoly has cut the angle holders but have to make slots on them. Next week Casey will be working on the FDC installing the skin and the tubes between the cooling manifolds.

- Spare package has been re-configured to test the new F1TDC, using cell #3 (all cathode and wire cards connected) and #6 (only wire card connected). Vlad did all the grounding on cell #3 and some on cell #6.

- Beni can read now the new F1TDCs with the DAQ. For this test we have all the HV cables to connect two cells: #6 (bottom) and #3 because they have parallel wires. Cell #3 will be fully equipped with wire and cathode cards. Cell #6 will have only wire cards, so in total we will have 4 new F1TDCs connected, per configuration. Thus we can do all possible tests on cell #3 and also wire resolution studies with both cells. Beni will keep the old configuration with the old F1TDCs in case we want to compare them with the new F1TDCs.
+
- Beni can read out the TDCs but needs a reference trigger signal for the timing. The reference that was used before in another crate with the old F1TDC doesn't work because the crates are not synchronized. Spacial cable will be made by Chris and Nick to put the trigger signal in the new F1TDC. We discussed if and how many of these trigger signals we will need in the Hall.

- Vlad showed an example how the cluster counting works (two plots attached above): one event with many fADC125 channels demonstrating how the coincidence  between strips and wires can be used to count the clusters and remove the noise and overlapping events. Second plots (~20 events shown) demonstrates the abilities to reconstruct the particle track in the depth of the drifting volume; each point represents a cluster reconstructed in space like in the Time Projection Chambers.

Installation preparations

- Work on the platform in the Hall continues. The opening between the cart rails is not so wide, it will be difficult to cable the bottom of the FDC. Eugene: can't we lift the FDC during the cabling then put it back on rails? Will wait for Bill to answer, but one likely problem is the surveying that has to be done without cables. It was not clear how so many FDC cables will run below the platform perpendicular to the many trays there below the racks: the sides of these cable trays are very close to the platform.

Engineering

- Bill was not at the meeting but sent an update before: Casey has de-burred the plastic angles for the skin, but is busy now in the Hall. We need him however to install the skin on the FDC. We need a tech to work on the mesh in ESB; all the parts including the new side support, are there.

Electronics

- Fernando: full crate test of the new F1TDC is done, the crates are ready to go in the Hall. Cody is working on the crate test of the fADC125.

Tests at EEL126

- Spare package has been re-configured to test the new F1TDC, using cell #3 (all cathode and wire cards connected) and #6 (only wire card connected). Vlad did all the grounding on cell #3 and some on cell #6.

Other

- No meeting next week due to the collaboration meeting.
