Hardware Agenda
- Calibration Discussion
Minutes
Present: Curtis, Naomi, Beni, Simon, Sean
- Calibrations
- Discussion centered on Sean's slides of questions
- The functions asic_response and cdc_wire_signal HDGeant/hitCDC.c are not used in typical reconstruction
- It was thought sensible to include wire-dependent gain calibrations, start with all set equal
- Could approximate wire sag as being the same for all straws.
- Is there still room for scintillator paddles below and above the magnet?
- Naomi will send Sean her wiki link which outlines a routine for finding gas mix and time offset.
- With the 6 ft x 8" paddles at CMU at least 4 days running is needed to get useful data for resolutions.
- In a 24 hour run, O(100,000) events are recorded in the FDC
- It would be useful to record data from cosmics with the magnet on.
- The position of FDC planes need to be carefully determined once it is inserted, since there seems to be some shifts in the z-direction when looked at with cosmics
- Sean: It would be good to sit down at some point and review which reconstruction/simulation parameters should be in the CCDB and which should be in the libraries
