Attending: David, Sasha, Tim, Beni, John D., Yi, John L., Hovanes, Eugene, Elton (JLab); Matt (IU); Christina, Pavlos, George (Athens); Orlando, Javiera, Will, Hayk, Serguei, Iñaki (USM).
- Announcements
- Review of Action Items
- Monitoring (Athens)
- Order of new control boards has not yet gone out due to Easter holiday.
- JLab will also order components and additional control boards
- Need to find out about shipping SiPMs to Regina for eventual delivery to Athens.
- Cable Labels
- Cable labeling is under discussion for the Fcal. Fernando plans to have all ends, including readout electronic slot/channel labels. Matt supports this decision.
- Discussion regarding complete labeling to provide flexibility at final connections.
- This need to be completed for Bcal also.
- FCAL
- Construction Status
- Samples of conformal coating from third party company not yet provided
- Coating from company have been received and need additional touch up, which will be done at IU
- Eugene: Asked about range on Flash. This should be decided with assistance from beam data.
- 2011 Hall B FCAL Beam Test (John)
- Accelerator is at 0.879 GeV/pass, 3-pass to Hall B. On Friday they plan to move to 5-pass on Friday. Following Wednesday the accelerator will return to 1.16 GeV/pass
- Fcal plans to stay in the alcove to take data at all energies.
- Also need to change FADC readout mode to sparcification and move away from raw data mode
- Construction Status
- BCAL
- BCAL Beam Tests 2012
- mini-Bcal moved to EEL about 10 days ago, cabled up and took about two days of cosmic-ray data
- Prototype moved down to Hall B last Tuesday.
- Hooked up to DAQ and took some data over the weekend (see example below)
- The cooling circuit had a blockage, but this was fixed yesterday. Temperatures are stable at chiller T= 14 deg C, upstream T=17.5 deg C, downstream T=14.5 C
- Accelerator is in the process of restoring beam at 3 pass. Will resume data taking when beam is stable.
- BCAL beam test: fadc amplitudes upstream end
- BCAL beam test: downstream end
- BCAL Beam Tests 2012
- USM update
- File:USMUpdateJaviera20120410.pdf (Javiera)
- Production is ramping up and USM should be able to test at almost twice original production rate
- Already have more than 500 tested units. Plan to ship in about a week after all data has been digested.
- File:USMUpdateHayk20120410.pdf (Hayk)
- Summary of parameters measured at 3 temperatures in station 3 for V = Vbr +0.9 V.
- Differences consistent with differences in temperature. Minor irregularities exist and these will be studied before shipping tested units.
- Corrections performed to the nominal 5, 7 and 20 degrees. Small corrections need to be made to correct to actual temperatures measured at the location of the sensor.
- The dark rate seems to be the most problematic, especially noted are systematics for IDs < 1700
- Dark rate determined from the ratio of total events to number of events in pedestal.
- Dark rates could not be reliably determined in dark conditions at Vbr+0.9V. They were determined by measuring at higher voltages and extrapolated to +0.9V.
- File:USMUpdateOrlando20120410.pdf (Orlando)
- Temperatures are measured at sixteen locations in stage 3 box (between each pair of sensors)
- Data showed the time evolution of temperatures during cooldown and also variation of each temperature sensor at the beginning, middle and end of data taking.
- Variations in temperature are very small and stability is very good.
- Light Guides (Iñaki)
- The large milling machine is back operational.
- Starting today, they will begin machining 24 "A" guides per day
