Wednesday Dec. 14th

Last 24h

  • Took LHe Full target data at 50nA for ~430M events
  • At ~15:00 Sasha started doing rate scan, but beam was very unstable
  • 17:10 Sasha finished the scan, we emptied the target and started to take data at 200nA beam current
  • There were some issues with BCAL scalers from fADCs, but the the rest was OK(HV, occupancy plots, disc. scalers), after rebooting IOCs the problem solved
  • ~22:00 The HV of one quadrant of ComCal went OFF, shift crew contacted to expert, it turned out there is need to reboot the power supply from hall, asked for rapid access Sasha rebooted the power supply
  • 3:30 got call from shift crew, related to ComCal HV trip, tried to reach expert with no luck, decided to go to "Rapid Access" to reboot the power supply from hall as in the previous time.

Shift Summaries

Issues

  • No signal from BCAL scalers
  • ComCal HV for one quadrant went OFF(twice in 1 night), rebooted HV crate from hall

Short term run plan

  • Access to hall to install "dummy" plastic disk in downstream end of solenoid
  • Thursday remove the dummy plastic, and run with EMPTY target at normal conditions
  • Friday Ramp down Solenoid and start filling Target, to take field OFF data for the rest of available beam
  • Hall-C will be doing BCM calibration today

Tuesday Dec. 13th

Last 24h

  • Took LHe data for ~13B events from switching to Full target
  • At ~10:00am we had a "Rapid Access" to replace FCAL "bad" bases (Malte and Mark)
  • Sasha and Arshak working on PS test stand aligning the prototype
  • After asked for 100nA beam at ~11:20
  • Shift crew noticed the BCAL ADC occupancy has a new line of "bad" bars, contacted to experts, was decided to replace the fADC
  • 17:00 asked for another "Rapid Access" to replace the BCAL fADC, and Malte replaced one FCAL base
  • 17:50 Put Hall in Beam permit
  • ~19:00 beam is back, after MCC fixed tripped cryomodule
  • Took data with 100nA till ~22:00 by collecting overall ~600M events
  • Switched to 50nA beam intensity and will continue taking data until 13/Dec Tuesday noon, then will switch to empty target (collected ~260M events)
  • Yields at different currents (Alexandre Deur)

Shift Summaries

Issues

  • FCAL FADC Scalar Readout shows some holes (43,55), (53,11) and (17,3), but other monitoring tools doesn't show any sign of bad channel
  • BCAL FADC occupancy has one hot spot
  • ACC is down since ~6am, due to issues in 2L12

Run plan until BEAM is down for Hollidays

  • Switch to EMPTY Target at noon today 13/Dec
  • Continue running until Wednesday before dummy plastic disk installation in front of target, then collect data for 1 day
  • On Thursday swing shift remove the dummy plastic, and run with EMPTY target at normal conditions
  • On Friday Ramp down Solenoid and start filling Target, to take field OFF data for the rest of available beam
  • Hall A will be doing Moller run at 8:30am
  • Hall C will be back to business today noon
  • If no beam is expected for >=30 mins take raw mode cosmic run (Bennie's request)

MONDAY, DECEMBER 19th IS A PARTY DAY AT RESIDENCE FACILITY

PRIMEX team is inviting everyone to celebrate another Productive RUN at HALL-D and your contribution and efforts

Monday Dec. 12th

Last 24h

  • We were running pretty smoothly, with no major issues
  • Took LHe data for ~13B events from switching to Full target
  • Naomi reported about time shifts in TAGH (~32ns)

Shift Summaries

Issues

  • Two FCAL bases are still locking up, Malte told these two bases needs to be replaced, waiting for some opportunistic "Rapid Access" to let him replace the bases
  • Over the weekend there was total of ~3.5hrs beam down time caused by some trim cards in South Linac
  • Today morning ~7:30am Hydra stopped showing the plots
  • Tagger NMR - Communication loss https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4100279

Short term run plan

  • NO Maintenance day planned for Accelerator, they have only one task to do for ~1hr in this week, but not sure when it will be done
  • Switch to EMPTY Target or do a low intensity run at 100nA beam current, and collect data on LHe FULL target at 200nA beam

Sunday Dec. 11th

Last 24h

  • We were running pretty smoothly, with no major issues
  • Took LHe data for ~10B events from switching to Full target, and ~3B events from yesterday

  • Beam current was fluctuating between 185-190nA informed MCC, they fixed it

Short term run plan

  • Take data on LHe FULL target at 200nA beam

Saturday Dec. 10th

Last 24h

  • We were running pretty smoothly, no major issues
  • Took LHe data for ~7.1B events from yesterday
  • Took TAC runs, starting from ~15:00 till 0:00, it took a bit longer because of unstable beam conditions, but at the end we were able to collect some good data https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4100110
  • At ~23:40 started filling target {notified target experts to keep an eye on it} to switch to normal production run with 200nA beam
  • From 0:00 switched to normal production with LHe FULL target

Shift Summaries
