We started the week behind but taking some production data for NPP. Accelerator had a slow start up. Hall C was getting only a fraction of their required beam current and Hall B had not started data taking due to target issues.

We performed harp scans and the beam envelope looked good. We attempted to calibrate the active collimator and center the beam but the lock was too unstable for this procedure. This is still under investigation.

There were repeated HV problems in certain tagger channels. After changing the card 3 times, changing the crate fixed the problem. We had a high trigger rate in the CTOF. The CTOF voltages were gain balanced—there appear to be light leaks in some scintillators. A window cover was removed from the last MWPC and the downstream beam pipe was moved about 18” further downstream. The readout threshold for the CTOF was lowered to match the trigger threshold. The triggers were aligned to the same time.

The TOF trigger was added to the overall trigger allowing us to start taking CPP and NPP production data together. There were occasions when the DAQ live time dropped very low. This was traced to busy signals coming from certain cards F1TDC cards associated with the tagger hodoscope. One of these as replaced with a spare.

There were alarms related to the DIRC differential pressure which were solved by replacing a malfunctioning differential pressure transducer.

We achieved on 40% acceptable beam used during this week.
