Minutes

Data Production

  • The reconstruction of the Spring 2017 data has completed, with the REST files taking about 117TB. The coherent-peak skim data is about 30TB.
  • Due to the scientific computing network outage over the weekend, the analysis launch will begin on Monday.
  • The ReactionFilter channels have all been tested and are working with the new analysis library, but the user-submitted plugins still need to be checked.
  • The new analysis library had memory usage issues, but they have since been resolved.
  • Plugins for the following analysis launch should be submitted to Alex A. by Wednesday next week.

Analyses

  • Lubomir presented a comparison between the 2016/2017 data for J/psi and phi -> e+/-. For 2017, the yields appear to be lower than expected and the widths wider, although there are large uncertainties on these values so they are technically within agreement.
  • Simon and Thomas presented their latest results on the phi cross sections. There is still significant disagreement between the different decay modes, but they are getting closer. They are still working on studying the acceptance, including what effect the cut on the kinematic fit confidence level has.

Studies

  • Mark Ito showed Beni's studies of the TOF efficiency. The efficiency agreement between experiment and MC is pretty good, except near the beam hole where the PMTs became saturated.
  • Mahmoud showed his results for the SC efficiency. For the experiment, he sees the best efficiency in the straight section and the worst in the nose, but in the MC it is the opposite. However, he needs to fix his delta-t calculation in order to accidental subtraction correctly. He is also going to look into how the efficiency depends on track momentum.
