Review of minutes from the last meeting

We went over the minutes from the meeting on May 8. Ashley had a look at the geometry. The changes needed for the upgrade should not be too bad.

Upgrade Status

Procurement

Mark reported:

  • The PR for 17 additional phototubes has gone into Procurement. We should inventory the spares already in hand at JLab.
  • Polishing supplies that Paul requested were ordered from MSC. They should arrive at FSU tomorrow.

Engineering Work

Tim reported:

  • Everything in the Hall is ready to go.
  • Nothing will be done until the DIRC installation is complete, probably several more weeks.
  • JLab has the drawings in hand for the brackets and will send them out to be made.
  • Collars will made at FSU.
  • Paul reports that they have reviewed the drawings Stephanie Worthington sent and they look good.
  • Paul expressed some misgivings at the design of the racks to store the modules when they arrive at JLab. He and Tim will discuss this further.
  • The gluing fixture will be mounted in the Hall as it was during the initial installation.

Construction

Paul reported:

  • The scintillator bars have arrived at FSU. The boxes will get opened tomorrow. Inspection routine will be performed.
  • Paul will be sending in an order for more RTV and primer.
  • The current batch of light guides are ready to have their ends trimmed off.
  • The ESR forming device is getting made.
  • Paul has been thinking about the beam support box needed for air light guides across the beam hole.
  • Ashley asked if we would need lucite shielding in the new configuration. The DIRC will provide some level of shielding but not over all of the TOF near the beamline. This will require further thought.

Software

Paul pointed out that there are many software tasks that need to get done to support the new configuration beyond the geometry specification.

  • HV and scaler guis
  • Monitoring histograms
  • HDvis and hdview2
  • TOF reconstruction
  • TOF calibration
