Minutes

Present:

  • FSU: Brad Cannon, Paul Eugenio, Sasha Ostrovidov, Aristeidis Tsaris
  • JLab: Mark Ito (chair), Beni Zihlmann

Calibration

Sasha showed plots of the diffidence of mean times between specific counters one in the front plane, one in the back. This simple study shows an indication of time resolution for the TOF of about 100 ps rms. He also showed a preliminary study of the difference in timing between two separated counters in a single plane.

Preparations for Spring Run

Beni has been looking at some basic quantities from the commissioning run with an eye toward expanding our standard set of monitoring plots. There are some mysteries. One of them is a strange set of regularly spaced peaks in the total charge distribution.

Some of us (Brad, Aristeidis, Beni, Mark, Simon, Sasha) will meet later in the week to plan some kind of structure for capturing summary data from plots like these for long-term monitoring of the detector.

TOF NIM Paper

Paul had started on a draft some time ago. He will try to pick up that effort and hopes to have a draft in the Spring.
