Minutes

Present:

  • FIU: Werner Boeglin, Eric Pooser
  • JLab: Eugene Chudakov, Mark Ito (chair), Chuck Hutton, Tim Whitlatch

Detector Construction Status

Eric gave us the update.

Eljen has made fifty bent scintillator bars. They arrived at McNeal yesterday. The team at McNeal is meeting to detail plans for machining. They will start in a week and the process should take about a week or two. The hope is to receive the counters at FIU at the end of April. Testing rate is 5 per day.

The mis-alignment study continues. There is an undergraduate working on it.

Fabrication of the assembly jig will start next week. That should take a week or two.

Final construction should start in the middle of May.

Support structure construction status

The Rohacell block are being glued now. Tom Carstens is doing that.

We looked at the final drawings for the support structure. They are now all out for signatures.

Werner reminded us that we plan to delay drilling holes in the second aluminum collar, in case some problem is identified with the hole locations in the first one.

Readiness Review

Mid-May looks to be a likely time for a Readiness Review. We also need to review plans for having Nick Sandoval travel to FIU to set-up the electronics.

BlueJeans

We used BlueJeans for this meeting without major incident, which is good.
