Minutes

Present:

  • CMU: Will Levine, Paul Mattione, Curtis Meyer
  • FSU: Nathan Sparks
  • IU: Ryan Mitchell, Matt Shepherd
  • JLab: Mark Ito (chair), David Lawrence, Simon Taylor, Elliott Wolin, Beni Zihlmann
  • UConn: Richard Jones

Announcements

  • Mark announced that sim-recon-2012-03-12 has been released. See the sim-recon release page for details.
  • Beni announced that he, in consultation with Richard, implemented a change to allow secondary vertices to be stored in the HDGeant output. The resulting particles will not appear in the list of generated particles.

Review of Minutes from Last Meeting

Reconstruction Sub-Group Reports

Calorimeters

will, fcal photons from b1pi events look at energy resolution and mean single cell clusters allowed, want to make this change

paul: photon timing cuts in b1pi scripts

still an issue in the bcal

Tracking

simon tracking looking at kinematic fitting code addressing errors p pi+ pi- rho events pulls for the px, py pz for two pions are too large by 20 25%, ffor proton 10%, likelihood of getting a fit poor looking at material map, perhaps they need refinement material map derived, from xml, though indirectly moving fourth package, will require new map averaging done for performance reasons was comparison done? not thread safe comparison with finer binning for averaging

PID

Paul, PID software changes matching back to working on tracking, spiralling pions got so it will link hits together on spirals, though some work left to do still getting many possibililties

Kinematic Fitting Documentation

Will heard about a request for documentation added newer information

Offline Software Review Planning

software review Link to page where gathering info schedule from rolf 1-pager software management plan tight spots and weaknesses: david starting manpower required seems to match expectations from collaboration about what can be deployed algorithm for level 3 trigger on on list of things to be reviewed Rolf want research management plan, hall a has an example, parts on names assigned to projects

other things: meeting, collaborative efforts, areas identified, sub meetings, statements one was jana/clara
